It Was A Little More Than 20 Years Ago Today…

This day in 1978, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band made its NYC premier. No, not the album, but a movie starring Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees. Whilst generally panned by critics and Beatles alike, the movie does have somewhat of a cult following. IMDb describes it as “A small town band hits it big, but they must battle a nefarious plot in the music industry” however, a more accurate description should most likely involve the words “cocaine and money”.

But in all seriousness, this movie is a personal favorite of mine. Yes, it is campy and cheesy BUT, it also showcases some of the best Beatles covers in my opinion. Boasting a star studded cast with everyone from Aerosmith to Earth Wind and Fire.

With “Strawberry Fields Forever” being referenced numerous times in the film through characters and in song, it seemed fitting that our cocktail should follow suit.  So…Let me take you down to Strawberry Fields….

Strawberry Fields Forever:

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Berry Vodka
  • 2 oz Strawberry Puree
  • 1 oz of orange liqueur
  • Prosecco
  • Strawberry slice to garnish

What You Do with ‘Em:

  • Mix your Vodka, Strawberry Puree, and Orange Liqueur
  • Pour mixture into a glass (we say use a mason jar) filled with ice & top with Prosecco
  • Garnish With Strawberry

Also, side note on the movie…Mr. Mustard’s Robot chicks we’re creepy AF right? Or was it just us?
